Since 1891, the Pipes and Drums of the 48th Highlanders of Canada have been the heartbeat of the Regiment. As part of the Canadian Armed Forces, we proudly perform at military occasions, public events, and other ceremonies to inspire pride, uphold traditions, and strengthen morale. We are a serious-minded and high-performing band committed to both musical excellence and military service

Are you passionate about music and looking for a unique way to serve your country? The 48th Highlanders of Canada Pipes and Drums offers an unparalleled opportunity to combine your musical talent with military service. As a soldier-musician in the Army Reserve, you will earn competitive pay and benefits while carrying forward the proud traditions of one of Canada’s most storied military bands.
Upon enlistment, you will complete the Basic Military Qualification (BMQ) to learn fundamental soldiering skills, followed by instrument-specific training at the Canadian Forces Logistics Training Centre (CFLTC) at Canadian Forces Base (CFB) Borden. Over time, you can pursue advanced music courses, leadership programs, and other military qualifications in support of the Regiment. Band members also take part in field training exercises alongside our Fighting Company and Combat Service and Support Company, proving we’re more than ordinary musicians.

Join Us for Practice!
Come meet the band, hear the music, and experience the camaraderie firsthand. We practice Tuesdays from 7:30 PM to 10:00 PM at Moss Park Armoury, located at the corner of Queen Street East and Jarvis Street in downtown Toronto.
